The Bartholomew Legacy
A dwarf more comfortable in the wilds of the forest
Grendel lost both parents before he was two years old and was abandoned in the wilds through a tragic series of events involving a burning orphanage, a village raided by goblins, and a murdered nurse. From there, things finally started to improve for him, as he was adopted into a wolf pack and never met any other humanoids until years later when he was discovered by a circle of druids that taught him language and a deep respect for the power of nature. In the following years he has visited a number of settlements but never felt particularly comfortable in them and is only at home when he’s under the stars and out in the spaces between the farms and cities. He’s had a number of clashes with society at large when they encroach upon the wild lands. The most recent event involving a confrontation with a pack of the duke’s guards, some woodsmen hired by the duke, and accusations of poaching in the duke’s forests. The result of this misunderstanding left him the newest occupant of the dukedom’s dungeons. An entirely new and undesirable experience that Grendel hopes to change sooner rather than later.
